Philosophy Project

This project was all about our personal philosophy and diving into what we believe out existence means. For this project, I created a manifesto about my personal beliefs and the way I want to live my life.

To Whom It May Concern

According to the Oxford Dictionary, the definition of the phrase comfort zone means, “a place or situation in which you feel safe or comfortable, especially when you choose to stay in this situation rather than trying to work harder or achieve more.”

Comfort suggests achieving less, working less, and a negative trend toward success

Our world is designed around our comfort, transportation, electric heating, internet.

The American dream says that if you get a job, work hard, get married, have kids, get a big house, and retired early and you will live a good life

No regrets, ultimate euphoria

That is the opposite of what is true

You go to work and doing the same boring shit every day

Nothing changes, you keep waking up, going to work, coming home late, sleep, repeat

You think you’re on the right track and that happiness is right around the bend

Until there are no more bends to turn

The reality is that you are wasting time, wasting away

Wasting away until your death bed is below you, your regrets above

I want to live

I aim to do what makes me happy

I desire to see places

I intend to go on adventures

I strive to cherish what is important

It doesn’t matter what is important, as long as you believe it is

Don’t worry about what is not important

I am tired

Tired of the bullshit, modern society sells us as “good for us”

I am tired of false ideals, likes, and follows

I am tired of excuses and “easier said than done”

So choose to take a leap and work harder and achieve more

Life isn’t for the faint of heart

The inspiration behind this manifesto/poem was the fact that nobody wants their life to be boring. So, this is my take on how I want to make my life less boring. This also is heavily addressing the fact that I think society is stabbing us in the back by saying how we should live, but there is no one saying you have to live a certain way besides yourself.
